Consignment¶
This section contains answers to the most important questions regarding IATA MRO SmartHub Consignment. If anything is missing here, please let us know via our contact form (How to contact IATA?) and we will add it here.
Is there a limitation for active consignment projects?¶
No, there is no limitation. If you have access to the consignment module you can set up as many consignment projects as desired.
What is the difference between virtual and physical consignment?¶
In a physical consignment, the material is physically transferred to the receiver’s warehouse. The receiver stores, manages, and potentially sells the material on behalf of the supplier. In a virtual consignment, the material remains at the supplier’s location but is managed and marketed by the receiver. The choice between physical and virtual consignment depends on the agreement between supplier and receiver.
Can I add material to an existing consignment project?¶
Yes. As a supplier, you can add parts to an existing consignment project at any time by clicking the Add parts button in the project’s part list view. Download the CSV template, add the new material, and upload it. The new parts will be immediately available to the receiver.
How do I track which parts have been sold?¶
Both suppliers and receivers can view sold parts in the Sold parts section of a consignment project. This section lists all material that was part of the consignment and has been marked as sold by the receiver, including the sale price and quantity. Detailed information for each sale can be accessed by clicking the plus icon.
Can I decrease the quantity of consigned material?¶
Yes. As a supplier, you can decrease the quantity of a part to account for removals, utilizations, or sales outside the consignment. Click the pencil icon next to the part in the part list to edit the quantity. To increase the quantity, use the Add parts function instead.
